Function

The Assessor is responsible for determining the assessed value of all taxable Real and Personal Property located within Tehama County. Under California Constitution and the Revenue and Taxation Code, the Assessor:

  • Locates all taxable property within Tehama County.
  • Identifies the owner of all taxable property.
  • Establishes the assessed value of taxable property in accordance with the law.
  • Produces assessment rolls for secured and unsecured property.

Directions for using the property inquiry system:

Enter your Fee Parcel, Assessment Number, Street Address or Aircraft Tail Number* into the appropriate box: (It is not necessary to use dashes)

To search a range of fee parcels:

  1. For a book enter (i.e.024) (Books 001-009 will require entering the leading zeros)
  2. For a book and page enter (02412 or 024-12)
  3. For a book and page and block enter (024124 or 024-124).
  4. For an exact parcel number enter nine digits (i.e.: 024124013 or 024-124-013)

 

To search a range of assessments:

  • Business Property assessments begin with 800-
  • Aircraft assessments begin with 820-
  • Boat assessments begin with 830-
  • Improvements on the real estate of others start with 850-
  • Possessory Interest assessments begin with 860-
  • Manufactured/Mobile Home assessments begin with 910-

To search a street address:

  • Use a portion or all of the address to lookup a parcel

To search using an Aircraft Tail Number*:

  • Before entering the Aircraft’s Tail Number place the letter N. (i.e. NN3858S)  

Double click on the desired assessment number.

  1. A wide variety of information related to the property will display. A link for your view/value notice will appear at the top of the screen.
  2. To print your assessment information, click on “Print” located at the top of the data window.
  3. To find the physical characteristics click on the click here for more info link. This will lead you to another web site in order to access the information.
  4. The more complete number, the more specific the search will be.
  5. Parcels secured by real property begin with book numbers 001 and go up to book 103.
  6. To print your assessment information, click on “Print” located at the top of the data window.

To request an inspection please call 527-4928.  Please note: Inspections for Manton, Mill Creek,

Mineral, Paynes Creek, and Ponderosa Sky Ranch will continue to be done on Thursdays only.

Inspections for Rancho Tehama will be done on Wednesdays only.

IMPORTANT: Inspections need to be phoned in on a business day BEFORE 3:30 to receive an inspection on the next business day.

Welcome to the Tehama County Treasurer-Tax Collector's website.  My staff and I have worked hard to provide you with online services that provide useful information about our office, our work and our fiduciary obligation to safe-keep the County's financial resources. Our goal is to provide you with the information and easy access to make an online tax payment, obtain your personal tax information or to provide you with a better understanding of what services we provide.

 

Please be advised that the credit card processor charges a convenience fee of 2.38% to pay by credit or a flat fee of $4.95 to pay by debit card.  There is no fee to pay by EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer - entering routing number and account number from check). To pay by telephone, call 1-888-950-1199.  This fee is not charged by Tehama County.

Important notice - Tax bills will be mailed by November 1.  If you did not receive your bill please print a duplicate from the website or contact our office to obtain a copy and ensure your mailing address is correct.

IMPORTANT DATES:

When the delinquent date falls on a Saturday, Sunday or legal holiday, the time of delinquency is 5:00 pm
the next business day.  All payments must be postmarked on or before the delinquent date to be considered timely.

Tax payments made by credit card or EFT will be processed as of the transaction date of the payment. The website may not reflect that your payment was made for up to 7 days.

Building a Brighter Community One Plan at a Time

Our priority is to provide efficient and effective services to those we serve, citizens, business and property owners, visitors, and stakeholders.  

The Planning Department serves as the land use information center for the County. For general information and Zoning requests please contact our office. The Department functions as a professional staff to the Board of Supervisors, the Planning Commission, and the Airport Land Use Commission. The Department disseminates information to the public regarding potential development areas for residential, commercial, industrial, and resource development and management.

The Department is responsible for the maintenance and implementation of the County General Plan, the County Zone Plan, and implementation of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). The Department processes development applications and permit requests for land divisions, use permits, General Plan amendments, zone changes, and variances. It also processes permits and enforces state requirements for the Surface Mining and Reclamation Act (SMARA). The Department functions as the Census Data Center for the County and disseminates information regarding population, economic, and housing characteristics and trends.
