Veterans Services

Effective December 14, 2020 The Tehama County Veterans Service Office will be open Monday through Friday from 9-12 and 1-4. Walk-ins are accepted for the purpose of dropping off paperwork, signing forms and obtaining DMV forms.  We are located at 444 Oak Street, Room C, in Red Bluff.  For all other assistance, such as filing a claim, please schedule an appointment.  Beginning Monday, January 25th, Nation’s Finest will be co-located in our Red Bluff office to assist veterans who are homeless or at-risk of becoming homeless. The hours will be 9-12 every Monday.  Larry Dozier is the Nation’s Finest case manager for Tehama County and can be reached at (530) 945-6800.  The Corning and Los Molinos outreach locations will remain closed until we receive notice from the governor regarding safely re-opening.

In order to comply with social-distancing rules, only 1 person (and those with that party) are allowed in the lobby. When you arrive, if there is someone waiting in the lobby, please wait outside on one of the social-distancing "X's" until the lobby is available.  Please wear a mask when you visit our office.  There is no public restroom in the building at this time.

If you are seeking a Tehama County Veterans I.D. card, bring an original or certified copy of your DD214, unless we already have it on file.  In addition to assisting with getting discounts at local businesses, the I.D. card provides free lifetime rides on the TRAX bus system.

About the Tehama County Veterans Service Office:

It is an office established by the Tehama County Board of Supervisors to assist in obtaining benefits from federal and state agencies administering programs for Veterans and their dependents.  Our Veteran Service Officer and Veteran Service Representatives are trained and accredited to assist local veterans with obtaining VA benefits for which they might be eligible. They are Tehama County employees, not VA employees. Our office can assist veterans and their family members with determining eligibility and filing claims for monthly VA compensation, pension, educational benefits, vocational rehab, VA health insurance and many other benefits.
